Folk Festival offers perfect last minute gift ideas

Even though we are a summer festival, the staff and volunteers at the American Folk Festival work year round to bring the magic of folk music to the Bangor Waterfront. If you are in need of a very special last minute gift idea, we may have just what you need. Do you have a loved one who appreciates the festival as much as we do? Consider making a donation in their name. Individual donations in any amount are always appreciated and put to good use.

The Family Circle donor program is specifically geared toward children and what greater gift than introducing the young people in your life to the joy of traditional folk music. A $250 Family Circle donation will give your children access to an exclusive grand opening on Saturday at that festival’s children village. folkfestfolo 082513 9 KB.jpg

The children’s village offers activities, games and crafts that represent traditions from around the world. You also will receive two Family Circle T-shirts and a one of a kind identifiable Family Circle lanyards. For $1,000 you can give your loved special access to the AFF by making them a member of the Producer’s Circle. Producer Circle members get a special AFF pass, access to the hospitality tent and tickets to the exciting and always-anticipated kick-off party held on the Thursday evening before the festival. Producer Circle members are also listed on AFF marketing materials.

What a great way to show your friends and family how much you care while supporting this beloved festival at the same time.

Did you see something in the craft tent that struck your fancy this summer? Many of our crafter have websites that you can link to directly from our website. Remember the beautiful handcrafted pottery from Down To Earth Pottery or the fine wooden gifts, such as cribbage boards and trivets from Acorn Wood Products? There also was the unique enamel on metal jewelry and dishes that Green Mountain Enamel Works offered and a variety of herbal items from Herb and Vine and Common Folk Farm. You can view the very products you may have seen on their craft tables this summer right on their websites.

Whatever you may choose, we here at the AFF wish you and yours the very best holiday season! Know that after spending a few days with our own families we will be getting right back to work planning an exciting three-day festival for you this summer.

We can’t wait to see you there!
